EMC Winter Eve's First Foal Named Top Filly at AHS Inspection.
EMC Winter Eve's first foal, Spring Song, a lovely bay filly by the High Point Hanoverian stallion Sinatra Song, was named the Top Filly at the American Hanoverian Society Summer Tour Inspection, held at the Brookside Equestrian Center in North Smithfield, Rhode Island.
The AHS inspection team of Suzanne Quarles, George Walker and Hugh Bellis-Jones presided. The judges' very first comment on Spring Song was "Beautiful!" They complimented her on "being in proportion" and noted her "great topline", "long legs" and "great trot and extension."
Helene, purchased in Germany in December, is a lovely four-year-old black States Premium Candidate Hanoverian mare (Hohenstein/Weltruhm/Acapulco), from a strong dam line of SPS mares which has produced Hubertus Schmidt's renowned performance mare, Wansuela Suerte.
As a three-year-old, Helene received the following superb scores during her mare inspection, earning an overall score of 8: Breed Type - 9; Body Quality/Type - 8; Correctness of Gaits - 8; Elasticity - 8; Walk - 8; Head - 9; Neck - 8; Saddle Position - 8; Frame - 8; Front Limbs - 7; Hind Legs - 8; Overall Impression - 9.
She then went on to win her class and be named Reserve Champion at her mare show.
As a four-year-old, Helene earned her SPA status by completing an exemplary mare test, with highlights of "9" for her walk, "8.5" for rideability by the judges and "9" for her rideability under the guest (test) rider. In addition, she repeated her mare show victory, by winning her four-year-old class and being named Reserve Champion at the mare show in Lilienthal, Germany, in June.
We look forward to Helene's American show debut at Dressage at Devon, with Michael Bragdell and Hilltop Farm, Inc.
